Biofouling is one of the main challenges faced in the shipping industry, causing increased emissions, release microplastics and toxic chemicals into oceans, and increase transfer of invasive marine species. Nautica Robotics has developed fully autonomous swarms of robots to continuously and proactively keep maritime ship hulls free of biofouling (e.g. slime and barnacles). This solutions allows vessels to significantly reduce GHG emissions and fuel consumption, whilst allowing shipping companies to better comply with regulations regarding invasive species.
